The in is a perfect combination of luxury and home cooking. Large portions and great service make this a go to spot for a five course meal. Or grab drinks at the bar and chat with their great staff. I will most definitely go again.

Whately Inn isn't for everyone, but for some it is a welcome step back in time offering a multi course dinner (appetizer, salad, protein with sides, small desert and tea/coffee) for one price. The meats are generally good, especially the weekend prime rib. While this isn't a place for those who wish to eat lite, or nouvelle, and the quality had noticeably slipped on our last visit, we'll still give them another try.

Very good value. Complete dinners including soup or appetizer, salad, bread, choice of potato, vegetable, dessert, coffee/tea and LARGE entree. Can take stuff home. Excellent service.

The Whately Inn is a great place for dinner/gathering or any event you may be planning. We have been here multiple times and the food is always EXCELLENT! The service is top notch and the atmosphere is "dressy"/casual and has that old New England feel to it the minute you walk in the door. I recommend the Scallops Brochett for an appetizer or the Lobster bisque soup. Both are the absolute best I have ever tasted, up and down the New England coast. For an entree, try the baked stuffed lobster or, if you're not a seafood lover, they have a couple of great steak dishes to choose from. Either way, you cannot go wrong with the Whately Inn!

When they get it right, the food is good. Not quite great, but good. The menu is dated, the tables are small, the service is slow, but there aren't many old school restaurants like this left, so if its what you're looking for, you'll probably like it. Some folks like to go for special occasions, but be warned: if it's a holiday, it's going to be very crowded and very slow.
